Johnson & Johnson Split, New Company Name Has Been Set
2022-10-17

On September 28, local time, Johnson & Johnson said it would name the company focused on consumer health products Kenvue. The new logo is centered on the "K" symbol, embodying the company's strengths, the rectangular geometry represents scientific precision, and the rounded edges evoke the warmth of caring.

The health care giant said in November that it would spin off its $14.6 billion consumer health unit from its pharmaceutical and medical device businesses and go public independently. The spinoff, the largest shake-up in J&J's 136-year history, is expected to be completed next year.

Kenvue is positioned to compete with the likes of Procter & Gamble and L'Oreal. In addition to Bondi and Tylenol, the company's portfolio will include other brands such as Neutrogena, Avanade and Listerine. Meanwhile, Thibaut Mongon, who has worked at Johnson & Johnson for 20 years, has been named Kenvue's CEO-designate.

The Johnson & Johnson name will be reserved for the pharmaceutical and medical device businesses, and Johnson & Johnson CEO Joaquin Duato will helm the company.
